AN overgrown part of Holsworthy is now looking as smart as ever - leading to a thanks from the town’s council.
A bank at Station Close, once adjacent to the town’s former railway station had been looking overgrown and unkempt with Holsworthy Town Council expressing a wish to make it look better for residents and visitors alike.
After the work was complete, the mayor, Cllr Nigel Kenneally, accompanied by Cllr Helen Parker, the chair of the Holsworthy Town Council parks committee, visited the bank in Station Road to see the work for themselves, undertaken by Scott Cholwill of local firm SC Garden Maintenance.
The bank had been cut back and mulched, improving the appearance of the area and helping with the council’s efforts to keep the community clean and well kept.
Cllrs Kenneally and Parker took the opportunity to thank Mr Cholwill for his work in the area, expressing delight at the improvement made to the area.
It is one of several projects currently being overseen by Holsworthy Town Council which fulfils its aim of improving the town for residents and visitors alike, with further projects said to be in the pipeline.
A spokesperson for Holsworthy Town Council said: “The mayor, councillor Nigel Kenneally and the chair of Parks Committee met with Scott Cholwill to thank him for his hard work at Station Close.
“With the help of a Scott Cholwill from SC Garden Maintenance, the bank at Station Close which used to be overgrown, has now been cut back and mulched, improving the appearance of the area.
