AN ash tree in a car park has been transformed into a spectacular otter carving by a local artist.

The mayor of Holsworthy Cllr Nigel Kenneally was presented with a hand-carved otter, created from part of an ash tree that once stood tall in Holsworthy Memorial Hall Car Park.

The otter carving was kindly donated to the town by experienced local woodcarver, Mr Chris Osborne.

Cllr Kenneally said: “It was a real pleasure to graciously accept a carving of an otter, made from part of an Ash tree that used to stand in the Memorial Hall car park.

“The carving was donated to the town by celebrated local wood carver Chris Osborne. It will be a honour to have it on display in the council chambers.”
