AN invitation to get on your ‘Blue Suede Shoes’ and dance away to some ‘Jailhouse Rock’ in aid of two valued Holsworthy community groups has been issued by the town’s mayor.

This year’s Holsworthy mayor’s charity night will see Andy James, described as the UK’s number one Elvis Tribute Act, come to the town for a night with ‘a little less conversation and a little more action’, with the event taking place on March 29 from 7pm at the Holsworthy Memorial Hall.

In addition to the live Elvis tribute, there will be a performance from DJ Pasty in support, plus a bar and refreshments, a best dressed competition, a raffle, and two food vendors.

All proceeds from the event will support the two nominated mayor’s charities for the 2024/25 civic year in the form of the Friends of Holsworthy Primary School and local dramatics group in the form of Holsworthy Amateur Theatrical Society (HATS).

A spokesperson for Holsworthy Town Council said: “Get ready for an unforgettable evening as we bring Andy James, the UK’s No.1 Elvis Tribute Act, to Holsworthy!

“Enjoy a thrilling live performance while supporting two incredible local causes: HATS (Holsworthy Amateur Theatrical Society) and Friends of Holsworthy Primary School.

“Proceeds from the event will go directly to supporting local arts and education initiatives through HATS and Friends of Holsworthy Primary School.

“Bring your friends and family for a night of music, dancing, great food and fundraising.

“Don’t miss out – let’s rock for a good cause!”

Tickets are available online or can be bought physically from the Holsworthy Town Council offices between the times and days of Monday to Thursday, 9am until 4pm and Friday 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Alternative venues to purchase tickets include the White Hart Hotel and the Holsworthy Amateur Theatrical Society (between 1pm and 2pm on Saturdays).
