ALFIE Hurwood returns at scrum-half as Bude make just one change from last weekend’s defeat at Paignton for tomorrow’s home clash with leaders Plymstock Albion Oaks (3pm) in Counties One Western West.

The Seasiders have done well so far, picking up a bonus point in defeat at both St Ives and Paignton, and saw off an understrength Kingsbridge on matchday two.

Bude will hope to continue their unbeaten home record against an impressive Oaks side who have put Tavistock (45-3), Bideford (75-15) and Redruth Seconds (63-17) to the sword so far.

While Plymstock have yet to play any of the sides expected to be in the top half, an average of over 60 points per game is hugely impressive and will ensure that Bude’s defence will need to be on top form to have any chance of securing a result.

But Bude have scored four tries in their last two games, and in skipper Will Hockridge have a player that has touched down five times already.

Hooker Rory Mead earned a second half hat-trick in last week’s defeat to Paignton, so the signs are there that things are coming together.

Hurwood comes in for the unavailable Charlie Watton, but as has been the case all season, Bude head coach Simon Jeffery hasn’t had to tinker much.

There is one alteration on the bench as Ben Tharme comes in for young prop Hayden Chater who is given a start for the seconds at Redruth Albany in Counties Three Cornwall.

The Seconds have yet to take to the field this season.

They had a bye on matchday one, conceded to St Austell Thirds the following week, before last Saturday saw Falmouth Seconds fail to raise a side.

But Bude take an 18-player squad down west as they aim to get their campaign underway.
