AFTER naming two unchanged starting 15s to start the season, Bude make a couple of alterations for tomorrow’s trip to early leaders Paignton in Counties One Western West (2.30pm).

The Seasiders make the long trip to South Devon buoyed by an excellent 27-22 success over Kingsbridge, a result followed up by a bonus point from their opening day jaunt down to St Ives.

From last weekend, winger Jack Horwell and scrum-half Alfie Hurwood are both unavailable.

Horwell’s place goes to former Launceston Colts player Ollie Rowland who has been away travelling, while the experienced Charlie Watton comes in at nine.

Prop Fraser Martyn and flanker Harvey Cholwill also come into the matchday squad and join young prop Hayden Chater amongst the replacements.

Paignton have seen off promoted Redruth Seconds and struggling Bideford so far, and will fancy their chances of a third straight win, all which would have been at their Queens Park base.

The Cherry and Whites put together a storming run last season to nearly secure promotion, so any reward for Bude would be most welcome.

BUDE: Olly Denford, Ed Hilliam-Cooke, Will Pharo, Joe Wilson, Ollie Rowland, Brad Thomas, Charlie Watton; Nick Waterson, Rory Mead, Chris Allin, Freddie Saxton, Will Hockridge (capt), Finley Fry, Matt Maniglia, Ben Hancock. Replacements: Hayden Chater, Fraser Martyn, Harvey Cholwill.

Bude Seconds, who had to concede their first game at St Austell Thirds last weekend, were hoping to welcome Falmouth Seconds to Bencoolen Meadow.

However, Falmouth have pulled out meaning Andrew Sillifant’s side get five points.

The ladies were beaten 25-10 at Helston in their opener last Sunday, but have the weekend off before their next game at Okehampton on Saturday, October 12.
