BUDE RFC get their new year underway on Saturday when they travel to top four side Plymstock Albion Oaks in Counties One Western West (2.30pm).
The Seasiders are five points clear of second bottom Tavistock in tenth, but are just a point adrift of both Penryn and St Ives.
Bude still have the four sides around them to face at home, including bottom side Bideford next Saturday in what will be a huge match for both sides.
However, first up is a trip to Plymstock who, after a rollocking start, have lost three of their last four matches. Only Paignton have left Horsham Fields with victory.
But while Paignton have a 12-point lead at the top from Pirates Amateurs, the Penzance outfit are just three ahead of the Oaks with two sides set for promotion to Regional Two South West.
It means Bude know they will face a fired up home side, but they travel with a near full-strength squad to choose from.
Prop Nick Waterson does miss out having suffered a knock in the 26-7 reversal against Paignton, with his place going to youngster Hayden Chater.
Influential number eight Ben Hancock had to start on the bench last time out having not felt at 100%, but he returns with Matt Maniglia dropping down to the bench and Fred Saxton switching back to the second row and Harvey Cholwill to flanker.
There is one piece of good news for Bude as Ryan Butler has rejoined the club from Newton Abbot.
While he isn’t available every week, he will provide a valuable option in the backs when called upon.
Bude Seconds are also in action when they head to Lankelly-Fowey in Counties Three Cornwall (2.30pm).
