Cornwall Cricket League Division Three East round-up - Saturday, June 22

LEADERS Luckett overcame a wobble to beat Roche Seconds by three wickets at Chapel Field.

The first half couldn’t have gone much better for the hosts as Roche’s dangerous batting line-up was kept subdued before they collapsed from 114-3 to 145 all out.

Martin Hunn took 2-30 early on before Mark Southcott (3-37) and James Wilkinson (3-20) shared six wickets after Leion Cole dismissed the dangerous George Oakley for 33.

Luckett were in big trouble at 67-5 and 101-7, but Southcott (24no off 53) kept his head which allowed Adam Piper to smash an unbeaten 26 from just 13 balls to get them over the line.

Launceston fell to a fourth straight loss as Grampound Road chased down 222 at Lawhitton.

After choosing to bat, the hosts slipped to 44-4 before James Dawe (44), Phil Spry (57no) and David Sillifant (29no) helped them post 221-5, a score boosted handsomely by 61 extras.

Grampound got off to a flier through Joey Bustin (47 off 45) and they reached 185-3 with Ashley Gilder making 66.

Late wickets fell but the Road got over the line with three wickets to go. Chris Alford (2-41) and Sillifant (2-44) took a couple.

Werrington Thirds slipped to a disappointing home defeat to Tideford by 29 runs.

The visitors made 205-6 which included 58 from Glynn Triscott and a couple of wickets each for Daniel Jenkin (2-37) and Ben Sonley (2-44).

Werrington were flying along with Adam Paynter (24) and Paul Miller at the crease.

Wickets then tumbled, and although Miller made 58 and number ten Sam Smeeth 20 not out, the end came on 176.

Callington Thirds won by six wickets at Liskeard with Peter Tancock making 101 not out.

He shared an unbroken stand of 125 with Ben Neville (53no) in their chase of 222.
