A NORTH Cornwall town council has announced that it will endeavour to correct its town centre clock in the coming days.
As the year progresses and the nights draw in, many will have forgotten this weekend’s time change, as clocks are moved back an hour to move out of British Summer Time.
However, some Launceston residents noticed that the town’s iconic clock had not been changed to align with the new GMT - no doubt leading to some brief panicked faces on their morning commute.
Launceston Town Council has now announced that it will be making an effort to correct the time in the coming days.
A spokesperson said: “The Town Clock will be set to the correct time (Greenwich Mean Time) tomorrow, Tuesday, October 29.”
However, the spokesperson also explained that this isn’t an entirely simple process.
They continued: “The clock is electric and as such, to alter the time the power to the clock needs to be stopped and we then need to wait for the correct time to turn the power back on. Therefore the clock will be stopped later on today and restarted at the correct time again tomorrow.”
