THE opening date for a new Cornwall Air Ambulance shop in Launceston has been confirmed.
Cornwall Air Ambulance announced earlier this year that it would be expanding its retail portfolio by opening a brand-new shop in Launceston.
The new store, complete with fresh a modern design, will be opening on the town’s main high street at 10am on Friday, March 21.
A new charity shop manager has been appointed, who will oversee the managing of day-to-day operations, along with a team of enthusiastic volunteers.
The shop interior has been designed with a sense of identity and community in mind, linking to the natural surroundings by bringing in wooden and metal finishes to represent how nature meets industry in our mining history. A bespoke till backdrop has also been created, which depicts Launceston Castle.
Each year the Cornwall Air Ambulance shops bring in over £1-million in vital funds, helping to provide our lifesaving service across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. In 2024, the crew were tasked to 38 critical care missions in the Launceston area alone.
Joe Harriss, head of retail at Cornwall Air Ambulance, said: “We are delighted to be expanding into north Cornwall and bringing a brand-new shop to a brand-new town for us. Not only do our stores give you the chance to shop sustainably and engage with the charity, but every donation or purchase you make really does have a lifesaving impact. We hope you’ll enjoy shopping pre-loved items at their best and we look forward to seeing you on our opening day.”
The new Launceston shop will be open 9.30am-4pm Monday to Saturday at 10, High Street, Launceston, PL15 8ER.
