THE residents, staff, families, trustees and friends of the Holsworthy Abbeyfield Society met together to mark the retirement of their long-serving secretary Mrs Barbara Daniel.

Barbara served Densham Court for over 30 years, loyally steering the house and committee through numerous changes as it evolved into the warm and welcoming community it is today.

At a delicious meal prepared on Friday, November 11, by the housekeepers, Barbara was presented with a framed certificate of long service from the CEO of Abbeyfield UK, together with a number of gifts from grateful friends and colleagues.

A spokesperson added: “We all wish her a long and happy retirement, and look forward to seeing her whenever she is passing.”
