Holsworthy and District Lions have donated £100 to Holsworthy Brownies, and £500 to Bude and Holsworthy Emergency Responders.
The donation to the Brownies was collected by Zara Kepple and Mandy Galjaardt, the Brown Owl of Holsworthy Brownies. The money will be used to fund an adventure holiday trip with PGL Travel Ltd for the Brownies.
The £500 donated to Bude and Holsworthy Emergency Responders will be used to help fund the purchase of adult and child computerised advanced training simulators — sometimes called a ‘smart mannequin’. The simulators, which cost around £5,000, will be used in the training of doctors and paramedics in the local area.
The cheque was collected on behalf of BASICs (the British Association for Immediate Care) by Angus McDonald, David Hillebrandt and Richard Hoult.
On the same evening, Jon Hutchings, of the Balsdon Trust, presented a cheque for £500 to the Lions to help fund its annual fun day for adults and children with disabilities in November. Club president Brian Withall, expressed his sincere thanks to Jon and the trustees of the Balsdon Trust.
