DEVON and Cornwall Police have confirmed that an incident in Launceston saw a man sustain a stab wound to the head.
Yesterday (July 3), police launched an appeal for information following reports of an alleged stabbing in Launceston.
Officers were called to the Asda petrol station after two men were reportedly assaulted near the forecourt on Tuesday, July 2, at 11.40pm.
Police confirmed that one of the victims had sustained a stab wound to the head. The injury is not believed to be life-threatening or changing. Both victims were also believed to have been punched causing facial injuries.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson added: “A 20-year-old man from Launceston has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in police custody.
“Enquiries are ongoing to locate a suspect who is described as a white male with light brown or blond hair. He was believed to be wearing dark clothing and trainers.”
