STUDENTS from Launceston have been donning a fresh look this week after receiving a new sports kit designed by themselves.
St Stephen’s Community Academy have had an exciting start to the new term after they received their bespoke sports kit designed and voted for by the children. The two winners modelled the new team kit and goalkeeper kit with great applause from the rest of the school.
The school welcomed some of the kit sponsors to celebrate the arrival of the outfits.
Maura Furber, headteacher at the school, said: “We were also thrilled that Paul Hider from One Sport was able to attend the 'unveiling'. Paul used to attend St Stephens and so it seems a perfect ending that he has printed and produced the kit for us. Paul answered lots of questions about the design process and said he had loved working on this child- led project and how wonderful it was to return to his own primary school.
“A massive thanks must also go to Mr Houghton who is an learning support assistant at our school. It was his brainwave and passion for sport that enabled this project to become a reality.”
