FOR its autumn concert this year Launceston Choral Society is performing some rarely heard choral music by Haydn and Mozart: Haydn’s Little Organ Mass, his Te Deum and the wonderfully named Insanae et vanae curae, the Mozart being extracts from his Trinity Mass.
The choir will be conducted by musical director, Jonathan Mann and accompanied by Mary Mazur-Park.
Tickets cost £8 and are available from members, David Parish Menswear and on the door. School age children are free. There will be a retiring collection in aid of the RBL Poppy Appeal as usual at this time of year.
The society hopes that as the opportunities to listen to live music are still few and far between, lots of readers will want to experience this evening of sometimes overlooked music from two masters of their art.
The concert will be held on Saturday, November 18, at 7.30pm in Central Methodist Church, Launceston.
