SANTA and Christmas themed merriment came to Holsworthy as the town kicked off the festivities in style.

It was a hive of activity with plenty of things to do for one and all, ranging from a bucking reindeer to a Christmas market providing residents of all ages with festive entertainment and opportunities to prepare for the big day.

Santa was on hand to take part in proceedings, with a father-daughter duo selected to officially turn on the lights.

Cllr Nigel Kenneally, the mayor of Holsworthy, said: ‘’Although, I was unable to attend Holsworthy’s Annual Christmas Switch-on, I’ve heard wonderful things about the event. The highlight, of course, was the appearance of the real Santa himself, bringing joy and gifts to the Children of Holsworthy.

“I would like to give a huge thanks to Jon Hutchings, the staff of Holsworthy Town Council, Councillors and all the volunteers that helped make it a magical evening!’’
