HOLSWORTHY Community College’s Year 8 football team won their first round tie in the Devon County Cup by winning 3-2 at Teignmouth.
The visitors started well and dominated the first-half to go in one-nil up. Within ten minutes of the restart, Teignmouth equalised to put them under a bit of pressure.
Holsworthy took a bit longer to get into gear in the second-half as Teignmouth came back out strongly. However, they eventually picked up the momentum and scored a second goal to put us back in the lead. Teignmouth soon came back to equalise again and the pressure was on once again.
Holsworthy passed up a number of chances to score as they failed to get the shots on target.
The game then became a lot scrappier before the North Devon side grabbed a late goal to win 3-2. The man of the match was Charlie Presswell.
