FOURTEEN-year-old Daniel Furse of Ashwater secured second place in the 2011 Cornwall Schoolboy Motocross Club Championship on his KTM 85cc big wheeled bike recently. Daniel started racing at nine-years-old on a 60cc Kawasaki. At 12-years-old he was the most improved rider in the small wheel 85cc class. This season he qualified for the BSMA Semi-finals, which were held at Tiverton against two other clubs. He qualified sixth, which took him to finals at Little Silver, Exeter where he competed against ten other clubs from across the county — finishing 21st out of 40.
