THE LOCATION of the newest Cornwall Air Ambulance shop has been announced by the charity.
The former M&Co shop on Launceston’s High Street will be transformed into the newest shop, enabling shoppers to support the life saving charitable work of the air ambulance as it bids to add to the town’s high street while raising money for their operations.
It is seeking volunteers to assist it with the running of the Launceston store, with the charity seeking additional members to join its ‘groundcrew’. It is hoped that it will open in the spring.
A spokesperson for the Cornwall Air Ambulance said: “Our new Launceston shop will be opening at 10, High Street, Launceston, currently signed as M&Co.
“We are hoping to open early spring, but we don’t yet have an exact date.
“We are currently recruiting for a charity shop manager, who will be in charge of the day-to-day management and operations, as well as a team of enthusiastic volunteers.
“We are also looking for shop volunteers to join our ‘Groundcrew’. Our charity shops are a hive of activity, perfect for socialising and meeting new people. Store volunteers sort and price donated goods, create window displays and serve customers.”
Joe Harriss, head of retail at Cornwall Air Ambulance, added: “We are delighted to be expanding into north Cornwall and bringing a brand-new shop to a brand-new town for us. In fact, last year we were tasked to 38 critical care missions in the Launceston area alone. Not only do our stores give you the chance to shop sustainably and engage with the charity, but every donation or purchase you make really does have a lifesaving impact. We hope you’ll enjoy shopping pre-loved items at their best and we look forward to seeing you when we open soon.”
