AN organisation dedicated to supporting young people in Bude has revealed it will soon relaunch in its new home.
The Pearl Exchange was founded in 2020 following the death of 19-year-old Pearl Bamford. Her parents felt compelled to assist the younger generation of North Cornwall and Devon and help them ‘build more positive futures’.
However, back in January, the organisation announced that it would be moving home in order to continue to grow and improve accessibility.
Fliss Loxley, managing director of The Pearl Exchange, said: “As a first home The Pitch n Putt has been a great base in which to grow but it has also presented a number of challenges.”
The group expressed that the base no longer had suitable space, due to the need to annually renew the lease, didn’t provide much security, and wasn’t easily accessible, being on the edge of the town.
However, the group found itself a new home, with a local artist offering their gallery space in the town’s centre as the new base for the organisation.
The new site was in need of some renovations, though The Pearl Exchnge has revealed that it will be reopening in the gallery this month.
From July 1, the organisation will be opening its doors in its newly renovated space, which will continue to provide free and social activities to young people in the area.
