Bude-Stratton Town Council announced the opening of a brand-new football area this week, complete with goal posts, adjacent to the croquet pitch on Summerleaze Downs in Bude.
The council has explained that the football area has been established to provide a dedicated space for local football enthusiasts to enjoy the sport in a safe and welcoming environment.
A spokesperson for the council added: “Since its opening last week, the area has been buzzing with activity, with residents of all ages making the most of this new facility.
“This new provision has been warmly received by the community and is already seeing excellent use.”
Steven Hayes, facilities manager for Bude-Stratton Town Council, said: “We are delighted to see the community embracing the new football area. Our aim was to create a space that encourages physical activity and brings people together, and it’s wonderful to see it already achieving that goal.”
The spokesperson concluded: “Everyone is encouraged to come and enjoy the new space, whether for a friendly match or a casual kick about.”
