HOLSWORTHY’S pharmacy looks set to move to a new location.
Over the last few months, residents in the West Devon town have expressed their concern after it appeared Jhoots had closed, and its services ended.
One resident spoke to the Post: “It is now two months since Jhoots closed, leaving the entire community of Holsworthy and surrounding area without a full range of pharmacy services. Several thousands of people have no local access to private consultations with a pharmacist, emergency consultation, smoking cessation, blood pressure checks, vaccinations, a full range of over the counter medications and are having to wait in a queue hours to obtain prescriptions”
However, recent developments have suggested that the business may be moving to a new premises.
Mayor, Cllr Nigel Kenneally, has confirmed that the pharmacy will be moving into the town’s old Lloyds building.
Speaking to the Post, Cllr Kenneally explained: “I am delighted that Jhoots have confirmed their commitment to the town of Holsworthy. It is important that we have a centrally located pharmacy in town, and this news will bring much relief to patients struggling to get their prescriptions. It will also hopefully relieve some of the pressure on the pharmacy out at the medical centre. This opening really is great news for the town.”
Speaking to the Post, a spokesperson for Jhoots said: “We have had a re-location application for the pharmacy approved and have already begun the relocation process.”
While the company are not yet able to confirm an opening date, the town’s pharmacy looks set to reopen soon.
