A SURF club based in Bude has thanked the community for their support after £15,000 of its equipment was reported stolen.
Last week, OA Surd Club, revealed that surf boards and a branded trailer worth a huge £15,000 had been stolen from them during the recent storms.
Police reported that between 4.30pm on Friday, December 6 and 11am on Saturday, December 7 an Ifor Williams box trailer containing 34 surfboards was stolen from the Widemouth Beach car park.
Investigating officers added that they are appealing for anyone with any relevant CCTV or doorbell footage, or anybody who noticed any suspicious behaviour in the area around the time of the theft, to get in touch.
Now, the club has said that the love and support they have felt ‘have been truly amazing’.
A spokesperson from the club said: “Thank you so much for all the shares on our post and the kind messages we’ve received. The love and support we’ve felt, not just from the surf community but from people across the country, have been truly amazing.”
However, despite sharing the news far and wide, the equipment is yet to be found.
The club continued: “Unfortunately, we still haven’t found our boards and trailer. We’re holding out hope that someone has seen something and that they can still be recovered. If you’ve spotted a trailer like the one pictured above on the roads since Friday evening, please get in touch.
“If any local residents have ring doorbells or CCTV footage, we kindly ask you to check and share any details with us or the police.
“We’re offering a reward for any information that leads to the successful return of our surfboards. Please keep sharing and helping us locate our equipment!”
