RESIDENTS of Bude and Stratton came out in force this weekend to support and remember those who have served our country as part of the town’s Remembrance service.

Each November, the town comes together to show their respect, marking Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day to remember and pay respect to members of the armed forces, past and present.

This year saw all corners of the community show their solidarity, from the town’s council to some younger faces from the scout group.

Mayor of Bude-Stratton, Cllr Steven Haynes said: “As we come together this Remembrance Sunday and tomorrow on Armistice Day, we honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served to protect the freedoms we hold dear. Let us reflect on their legacy and ensure that we continue to support and care for those who have served, both past and present. It is with deep respect that Bude and Stratton remembers them.”
