THE BODY of a man has been discovered on a beach at a North Cornwall beauty spot.
It comes after a man was reported missing in the water at Northcott Mouth, near Bude.
Officers from Bude Neighbourhood Division of Devon and Cornwall Police were called to reports regarding the welfare of a man last seen in the water on June 4. Other emergency services including HM Coastguard were additionally involved but the search came to nothing, with the man reported to be missing.
However, police confirmed on June 21 that a body had been found at Crackington Haven, a location approximately 15 miles down the road from Northcott Mouth.
Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that while formal identification had not yet taken place, the family of the man missing since June 4 had been made aware.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called at around 8.45pm on June 18 to the Crackington Haven area of Bude following reports of a body located on the beach.
"Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of a man who was reported missing in the water on June 4, have been made aware."
