A MAN from Tintagel has died after an incident near Boscastle.

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police were called to reports of a man missing from the Tintagel area during the evening of Saturday, November 9.

After a multi-agency search was launched, a man was located at cliffs in the Boscastle area by the Coastguard.

Unfortunately, the man was declared deceased at the scene, with the next of kin of the man reported missing being informed by police.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner, as is standard practice in incidents of this nature.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed: “Police were called at around 8.45pm on Saturday, November 9, to reports of a man missing from the Tintagel area.

“A multi-agency search was launched. As a result of the search a man was located at cliffs in the Boscastle area by Coastguard. He was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

“The next of kin of the man reported missing has been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
