WERRINGTON have made just one change from last week’s eight-wicket victory over Helston for tomorrow’s trip to mid-table Redruth in the ECB Cornwall Premier League (1pm).

The North Cornwall side’s 20 points means they are now six points clear of bottom side St Just, but with both Helston and Camborne between them, there is plenty to play for in the final eight weeks to decide who drops down to County Division One.

Batsman Ben Jenkin is at a wedding and is replaced by Ryan Pooley who has yet to fire in the top-flight since joining from Tintagel over the winter.

He is likely to bat at seven and will look to add some impetus into the innings late on.

WERRINGTON at Redruth: Sam Hockin, John Moon, Adam Hodgson, Thulina Dilshan, Mark Gribble, Ben Smeeth, Ryan Pooley, Nick Lawson (capt, wkt), Dan Barnard, Mark Taskis, Jordan Duke.

The seconds, who are still top of Division Two East despite last weekend’s six-wicket defeat at St Minver, have a pivotal weekend in their season as they face a double-header.

Although the forecast is poor at best on Saturday when they welcome Holsworthy, the only other side to beat them in the league, it is much more positive for Sunday when they are due to visit bottom side Tintagel.

Saturday’s side is close to full strength with the exception of all-rounder Mark Hodgson who misses both, while Sunday sees Ryan Pooley, Tyler May and Rob Dymond come in for the unavailable Billy Uglow, George Rickard and Hugh Tomkinson.

WERRINGTON SECONDS v Holsworthy: Marley May, George Rickard, Billy Uglow, Tom Lyle, Hugh Tomkinson, Dan Howgill, Rob May, Simon Bishop (wkt), Jason Seldon (capt), Ian Searle, Nick Oldaker.

Tintagel v WERRINGTON SECONDS: Marley May, Rob May, Ryan Pooley, Tom Lyle, Dan Howgill, Rob Dymond, Simon Bishop (wkt), Jason Seldon (capt), Ian Searle, Nick Oldaker, Tyler May.

The thirds, who were beaten by Launceston by five wickets last Saturday, have a tough task at mid-table Roche Seconds, while the fourths will look to bounce back from a double defeat last weekend when they welcome mid-table St Stephen Seconds.

Both games get underway at 1pm.
