LAUNCESTON have made three alterations from last weekend’s defeat to Exmouth for tomorrow’s trip to Ivybridge in Regional One South West (3pm).

Despite Saturday’s 36-27 reversal, the Cornishmen have started the season well, beating bogey side Brixham before thrashing last year’s third-placed side Chew Valley 53-21 away from home.

Ivybridge have had a mixed start.

They were edged out late on at Matson on matchday one before winning a thriller at home to promoted Sidmouth.

But an understrength Ivies side were thrashed 78-8 at newcomers Royal Wootton Bassett last weekend, which will ensure they are fired up to right some wrongs.

Launceston have to do without influential full-back Jose Luis Juarez due to injury, while Ben Bryant has gone to university.

It means a slight reshuffle as Cohen Larson makes his first appearance at Step Five since moving from Bude on the left wing, while Billy Martin, usually a hooker, lines up at outside-centre in Bryant’s place.

Ollie Bebbington, scorer of six tries already this term, moves to full-back.

Prop Charlie Short is recalled in place of Alex Bartlett, while there are two new faces on the bench.

Seb Cox, a summer arrival from Tavistock, will provide plenty of cover in the second row and back row positions, while young fly-half Tom Anderton is also named.

LAUNCESTON: Ollie Bebbington, Zerran Hammond, Billy Martin, Cam Fogden, Cohen Larson, Tom Sandercock (capt), George Hillson; Mitch Hawken, Levent Bulut, Charlie Short, Dan Goldsmith, Tom Bottoms, Dom Ellery, Lloyd Duke, Brandon Rowley. Replacements: Alex Bartlett, Seb Cox, Tom Anderton.

THE Castles have a perfect three from three record ahead of their top of the table clash with St Agnes.

Launceston have won at Roseland and Truro Seconds either side of a home walkover from Lankelly-Fowey, while their opponents have seen off Falmouth Seconds (66-10), Redruth Albany (111-0) and Illogan Park (33-12).

Launceston have hooker Nathan Ferrett available for the first time this season and starts, although Leion Cole, Mitch Acres and Seb Cox are all missing for various reasons.

LAUNCESTON CASTLES: Kuda Chisango, Dale Johnson, Ollie Tomkies, Richard Jasper, Mark Knight, Adam Collings, Corey Sillifant; Ollie Martin (capt), Nathan Ferrett, Simon Burden, Ben Greene, Chris Hall, Finn Stiles, Pete Bebbington, Callum Johns. Replacements: Tyler Westlake, Harvey Fry, Harvey Basford, Isaac Blencowe, Jake Crabb, Cody Smith.

The ladies, who have started with two wins from two since promotion to Women’s NC 1 South West (West), have the weekend off and are next in action on October 13 when they welcome Crediton.
