DAY two of the Paris 2024 Olympic Sailing competition yesterday (Monday, July 29) saw the iQFOiL windsurfers begin their campaigns after a windless first day.
Light winds curtailed the planned five-race schedule for the windsurfers, with the men’s fleet only managing one race after a false start.
Launceston’s Sam Sills started well for Team GB, but was overtaken by the chasing pack to finish 21st in his opening race of the series.
Reflecting on his efforts, Sam said: “There's going to be more of those [tough] races. The thing is just to park the ones that were bad and just keep going, keep looking forward.
"I haven't actually seen the forecast for tomorrow, but we'll have a look at it in the morning and I’m looking forward to getting some more under the belt.”
