SWPL PREMIER WEST (SATURDAY)

Camelford 2 Truro City Reserves 1

MARK Gusterson and Ross Beare both produced fantastic finishes as the Camels earned a first win of the season after seeing off Truro City Reserves at Trefrew Park.

Camelford started well, but it took a moment of magic from veteran frontman Mark Gusterson to break the deadlock when he lobbed Morgan Jones from 35 yards following a poor clearance.

Into the second half and an even better goal, a volley from Ross Beare from 20 yards from Gusterson’s chipped cut back made it 2-0, and although Truro pulled one back through Teddy Horton from a tight angle after Josh Colwill saved a penalty, it was Camelford’s day.

CAMELFORD: Josh Colwill; Josh Smith, Sam Wade (capt), Adam Sleep, Bailee Deignan; Kenley Dyson, Ross Beare, Sam Watts; Kenan Nicholas, Mark Gusterson, Shae Cardiff. Subs: Fin Ellacott, Tom Harvey, Andy Boxall, Josh Caddy.

Camelford man of the match: Mark Gusterson.
