BUDE Bowling Club have been busy recently with their own club championships and various competitions.
On Wednesday, September 11 the quartet of Anne Cadd, Sue Worth, Gill Hodgkinson and Cynthia May headed to Bickford Smith on the outskirts of Camborne for the Rippon League semi-final where they were beaten 20-16 by Chacewater A.
They then beat Heavy Transport 20-13 to secure third.
On the same day, Bude also had no luck in the Date League, losing 33-27 to Porthleven and 36-24 to Heavy Transport.
The two pairings of three were Teresa Tibbetts, Fran Goldthorp and Ann Butler, plus Tessa Carley, Jenny Horncastle and Marilyn March.
The club also held their finals of their club competitions recently.
The two showpiece events were the finals of the ladies’ and men’s championships. The ladies’ event saw Gill Hodgkinson beat Fran Goldthorp, while Dave Heckbert beat Nigel Worth.
