LAUNCESTON Reserves’ superb run of form continued on Saturday as they won 2-0 at their Sticker counterparts.

On a tough pitch, which meant the game was scrappy as a result, goals from Walter Medlicott and Cameron Heard were enough for the Clarets.

Bude Town also recorded an important victory, getting the better of Torpoint Athletic by two goals to one at Broadclose Park.

Scott Percy (Bude) and Nick Hill traded first-half goals before Tommy Statton scored the winner midway through the second-half.

Improving Callington Town Reserves were left fuming with the referee as they lost 3-2 at second-placed Polperro.

In windy conditions, Town started well and after some good chances Corey Freeman gave the visitors a deserved lead midway through the half. The Marshmen were left aggrieved as first Ben McIver Redwood was upended in the box but the official who was on the halfway line, waved away the appeals. Shortly afterwards, Polperro goalkeeper Sam Lane handled the ball a yard outside the area, but this time the referee adjudged it not to be a goalscoring opportunity and merely yellow-carded the player.

In the second-half, with the elements now in their favour, the home side began to press and equalised on 65 minutes through Robert Spencer, before Cameron Patterson then gave them the lead shortly afterwards from the penalty spot.

But Town held firm until, with ten minutes remaining, Callington were left scratching their heads as Alex May went down after a challenge in the box, but once again the referee was unmoved and within a minute the home side were celebrating a third through Jed Whitebrook as they fired past the impressive Kieron Sanders in the Town goal.

In the final minute, Callington were eventually awarded a penalty when McIver Redwood was upended in the box and the teenage striker fired home the resultant spot-kick.

The visitors tally was completed by Sam Haddy, Dan Capstick, Dan Piper and an own goal. Andrew Spokes scored both of Stoke’s goals.

Altarnun remain unbeaten after recording a 4-1 success at AFC Bodmin.

The Nuns headed to the Dragon Leisure Centre looking for a fifth win from six starts and dominated the majority of the first-half, eventually taking the lead through Brandon Ambrose.

However they did survive a scare when the hosts forced the ball in from a corner, however the referee adjudged it to have been from an offside position.

The visitors started the second-half quickly and doubled the lead when Sam Smith played in Toby Knights, who thrashed the ball into the top corner.

Bodmin were dangerous from set-pieces, and from another corner, Michael Horne took advantage to reduce the arrears.

Altarnun regained their two-goal lead in somewhat fortuitous circumstances when Josh Smith’s free-kick, which was aimed as cross, flew straight into top corner.

The visitors continued to create chances but it took until the final stages to record a fourth as substitute Alfie Gillbard fired in a loose ball after Knights’ shot was saved.
