East Cornwall Premier
LAUNCESTON’S sudden burst of end of season form saw them move out of the bottom two with this more than comfortable win over a Bere Alston outfit, who have gone off the boil of late.
The visitors took a 20th minute lead when Tom Ellacott ran on to a long through ball to score.
The second goal was a more scrappy affair when Connor Burtonwood reacted the quickest to knock the ball home during a scramble.
The victory was virtually sealed early in the second half when Dan Tilley converted a penalty.
Ellacott then pounced for his second goal, leaving James Follett to score a consolation goal with two minutes remaining.
Liskeard Athletic 2
St Teath 4
A CRACKING Jamie Kay hat-trick helped St Teath see off a Liskeard outfit who, if they are not careful, will be staring relegation in the face.
Kay showed all his experience by firing in the opening goal from the edge of the penalty area, and it was Kay who struck to give his side a two-goal lead inside the opening ten minutes when he man aged to force the ball over the line.
Liskeard eventually got themselves back in the game and reduced the lead before halftime through Chris Can- ham. It got better for the home side in the second half when Zak Peel drew the teams level.
Not to be outdone, St Teath regained the lead through Karl Croft. The victory was sealed with a cracking 35-yard drive by Kay to complete his hat-trick.
East Cornwall Division One
Bude Town 3
THIS was a cracking game between two of the divisions strugglers.
Camelford started the better and took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Mike Shearer and Sam Stockdale.
Bude hit back through a Jake Salt free kick which took a slight deflection. Back came Camelford, who regained their two-goal advantage thanks to an Ashley Richards goal.
Bude struck back again in the second half when Scott Percy fired in.
Camelford once again regained their two-goal advantage when Luke Richards converted a penalty, but Bude did not give up and reduced the arrears again when a Percy deflected shot was headed in by Gary Hodgson.
Mevagissey 4
Padstow United 1
MEVAGISSEY proved too strong for their visitors, who got off to the best possible start when Rob Elliott fired in a great drive in the opening five minutes.
That was as good as it got for Padstow as Glyn James drew the teams level in the 35th minute.
It took the home side until a minute before half-time to take the lead thanks to Miles Gardner.
The second half was mostly dominated by Mevagissey with James adding the next ten minutes into the half, and it was James who completed his hat-trick thanks to a late strike.
