SWPL PREMIER WEST (SATURDAY)
Truro City Reserves 2 Camelford 3
MARK GUSTERSON scored two minutes from time to give Camelford a precious 3-2 victory at fellow bottom half side Truro City Reserves.
It was the Tinners that started the better and took a 13th minute lead when wing-back Ned Symons capitalised on a loose ball near the touchline before advancing towards a static Camels defence and placing a shot inside the near post.
Visiting keeper Josh Colwill had to tip a fierce drive over the bar from Ben Shaw, but eventually Camelford woke up with Cam Bidgood in particular causing problems down the left.
And the Camels were level on 39 minutes as midfielder Kenley Dyson took a loose ball and drove into the box before beating Morgan Jones from 15 yards.
Camelford started the second half well and were in front on 48 minutes.
Andy Boxall set Bidgood away before his cross along the six-yard box was slotted home by Gusterson.
The visitors had the better of the game and saw Olly Taylor and sub Josh Caddy denied by Jones.
And they looked like they would pay for their profligacy when Truro equalised on 80 minutes as Gabe Turpin’s scuffed shot from 20 yards was scuffed towards goal and Mykey Davies flicked it home from close range.
Jones denied Bidgood from 15 yards with a save out of the top drawer, but the Foxhole winger had the last laugh on 88 minutes when his hip-high cross was volleyed in by Gusterson from ten yards.
They then saw the game out comfortably for a third win of the season.
