WITH Holsworthy Reserves having the weekend off in the Premier Division due to Fremington’s involvement in the Devon Senior Cup, Post area interest was in the Senior Division.
Morwenstow headed up to Northam Lions looking to build on their 3-0 victory over Shebbear United which came courtesy of goals from Jake Gilbert, Ben Pengilly and Jack Savage.
And while once again the defence and goalkeeper Sam Sutcliffe enjoyed a clean sheet, the attackers had a field day as they romped to a 7-0 success.
They led 4-0 at the break thanks to Corrick Davies, Jake Gilbert, Jack Savage and Mark Skelton, before the second half saw Gilbert complete his hat-trick either side of Harry Savage getting the sixth.
Shebbear regrouped from their Morwenstow humbling and put Fremington Reserves to the sword in a 5-0 victory.
The first half saw the Tangerines gradually get on top and eventually went 1-0 up when Chris Wildern played in the returning Matt Facey who made no mistake.
The second 45 saw Facey, who had been sin-binned for mouthing off to the ref at the end of the first half, turn provider for Ben Brace to make it two before Wildern was on target for 3-0.
Wildern got his second assist to set up James Vanstone, and it was the same player that got the last.
In Intermediate One, Bradworthy, Putford and Holsworthy Thirds were all victorious.
Bradworthy saw off Hartland Reserves 4-0 with Tudor Placinta (3) and Brad Birch on target, while Putford saw off neighbours Langtree Lions 3-1.
The villagers’ scorers were Alex Parker (2) and Aaron Brookes.
First half goals from Joel Greening and Harry Grigg were enough for Holsworthy to earn a 2-1 success over visiting Kingsley Park.
