St Piran League Division Two East round-up – Saturday, January 25

BUDE Town Reserves moved a point clear of the bottom after an impressive 3-1 victory over visiting Gerrans and St Mawes United on Saturday.

The Seasiders were able to include a healthy blend of youth and experience, particularly with their first team game at Launceston being called off, and that allowed the likes of Harrison Swatton, Aaron Hart and James Wheeler to play.

Against a physical Gerrans side that proved tough nuts to crack, Bude found themselves a goal down at the break thanks to Sam Goodswen.

But after Swatton equalised after half-time, further goals from man of the match Louis Steege and Jago Tweitman ensured a fine three points for Hayden White’s side.

The other two scheduled matches in the division – Gorran against Dobwalls Reserves and Lanreath v Mevagissey – were both postponed.
