THE fixtures for the 2024/25 Walter C Parson South West Peninsula League Premier West season have been released for both Camelford and Launceston.
Both teams are due to be in action on the opening day on Saturday, August 3.
Launceston make their longest trip of the season down to Penzance, while the Camels host fellow Post area side Holsworthy to Trefrew Park.
Both teams are also playing three days later.
Camelford welcome neighbours Bodmin, while Launceston entertain Millbrook, relegated from the Western League Premier Division last term.
August 10 sees just two games in the division due to Boardmasters with both clubs amongst ten to ask for the weekend off.
Camelford are on their travels on Wednesday, August 14 as they go to Millbrook, as are Neil Price’s Launceston who head to Wadebridge Town.
Price’s charges are back on home soil with another tough test against Wendron on August 17 as are Camelford who welcome Dobwalls who have enjoyed a good time of it in recent years.
As usual fixtures are crammed in at the start of the season to ensure the problems of recent years with the weather over the winter and spring, are made as unproblematic as possible.
The two clubs meet at Pennygillam on Tuesday, August 20 before both are in FA Vase action four days later.
Camelford are in action twice the following week.
They welcome Callington on Tuesday, August 27 before going to Penzance four days later.
Launceston head up to Bude Town on Wednesday, August 28 before rounding off the month on August 31 with a visit from Dobwalls.
Camelford are in league action just three times in September.
Reg Hambly’s men go to Wendron United on the seventh before welcoming Truro City Reserves the next week.
A fortnight later sees them visit title favourites Newquay who have already bolstered their ranks by signing Callam McOnie and Jack Bray-Evans.
Launceston’s month is also much more chilled in terms of scheduling, but it couldn’t be much harder.
Newquay away is the assignment on September 7 before they welcome last year’s runners-up Liskeard Athletic a week later.
Their only midweek game is at fellow Post area club Holsworthy on Wednesday, September 18 before they welcome Truro City Reserves ten days later.
Camelford start their October programme on the 8th with their second meeting with Bodmin Town and then welcome Bishops Lydeard in the last 32 of the SWPL League Cup. In the same competition, Launceston welcome East Devon outfit Bridport.
Millbrook head to the north Cornwall coast on the 15th before they are due to go to promoted St Day on October 19 if they haven’t advanced in the FA Vase.
Camelford’s schedule is punishing in the month, but do round it off with two exciting home games in three days.
Launceston visit on Tuesday, October 22 before a Friday night floodlight fixture against Bude Town.
They round the month off on October 29 at Callington Town, before having November 2 off.
Launceston’s league programme in October is slightly more friendly.
St Day is on the 5th before they entertain Wadebridge Town on Tuesday the 15th.
A Friday night clash at Bodmin Town is on October 18 before they go to Camelford four days later.
The final Saturday of the month sees them head to Sticker before Tuesday, October 29 sees them entertain Bude Town.
As usual there are games pencilled in for Boxing Day and the Easter weekend.
Wadebridge Town are the opposition for both for Camelford, the first of which is at Trefrew Park.
Launceston face Callington Town as usual with the second instalment at Pennygillam the Ground Hop fixture on Saturday, April 19.
