IN-FORM Launceston return to Regional One South West action tomorrow when they head to Brixham (2.30pm).
The Cornishmen have defied even their own expectations to have won six out of seven games so far and sit second on 29 points, two points behind leaders Chew Valley who visit Polson Bridge next Saturday.
Brixham were third last year, and as the season goes on, are likely to be back up towards the top end.
Their seven games have yielded 20 points with three wins and a draw, but they have faced the rest of the top four.
They beat Chew Valley at Astley Park, but were beaten at Devonport Services and Barnstaple.
Brixham have been a bogey team for Launceston in recent seasons.
The Fishermen won by a point in North Cornwall back in March and last September’s clash at Astley Park saw them run out comfortable 36-11 winners.
They also won the two games between them in the 2021/22 season, while the one game in the 2019/20 campaign which was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, saw them battle out a thrilling 32-32 draw.
Launceston have made just one change from the superb 20-17 victory over Barnstaple as youngster Jamie Chapman is preferred to Ollie Bebbington on the right wing.
The rest of the squad is as it was with prop Charlie Short still injured and flanker Charlie Tummon away at university.
