BUDE face a crunch clash tomorrow when they visit winless Bideford in Counties One Western West (3pm).

The Seasiders make, by their standards, the short trip up the A39 to tackle a Biddy side that have lost all four of their games so far, including a 22-12 defeat at Redruth Seconds last weekend.

But the hosts often start the season slowly and beat Bude twice last term en-route to finishing outside of the bottom two.

Bude, who have six points so far and have already faced the top two of Plymstock Albion Oaks and Paignton, have enjoyed the rare luxury of making very few changes so far this term and once again make just one alteration as Ben Tharme comes on to the right wing in the absence of Ed Hilliam-Cooke.

Charlie Watton is drafted into the matchday squad as the back option alongside flanker Harvey Cholwill and prop Fraser Martyn.

BUDE: Olly Denford, Ben Tharme, Will Pharo, Joe Wilson, Ollie Rowland, Brad Thomas, Alfie Hurwood; Nick Waterson, Rory Mead, Chris Allin, Freddie Saxton, Will Hockridge (capt), Finley Fry, Matt Maniglia, Ben Hancock. Replacements: Fraser Martyn, Harvey Cholwill, Charlie Watton.

On a busy day for the club, the second team will aim for a second win of the season when they welcome Illogan Park to Bencoolen Meadow (3pm).

The Seasiders were handed a home walkover by Falmouth Seconds three weeks ago, but suffered a disappointing defeat at Redruth Albany a fortnight ago.

Illogan Park were in Counties Two Cornwall last season before suffering relegation, and the villagers, who are based near Redruth, will provide a tough test.

BUDE SECONDS: Blaine Wickett, Jack Horwell, Brian Andrew, Jordan Hill, Mike Jones, Steve Eaton, Andrew Sillifant; Hayden Chater, Martin George (capt), Aaron Tharme, Chris Hill, Chris Heard, Lewis Edwards, Matt Shadrick, Joe Wickett. Replacements: Bert Seggons, Sam Parker, Steve Ffye.

THE ladies have a rare Saturday outing as they make the short trip over to Okehampton for a 4pm kick-off in Women’s NC 2 South West (West).

Bude haven’t played since an opening day defeat at Helston, but travel with three replacements and a host of new faces including wingers Flo Reeve and Cassie Holmes, plus replacements Becky Cottle, Victoria Hughes and Lola Cambell.

BUDE LADIES: Tegan Parnell, Flo Reeve, Katie Fry, Lisa Allin, Cassie Holmes, Vinnie James, Laura Priest; Hannah Mead, Jess Davey, Hannah Pickard, Alex Gallagher, Sam Pooley, Victoria Skinner, Sophie Elphick, Ellie Gregory. Replacements: Becky Cottle, Victoria Hughes, Lola Cambell.
