One lucky young artist from Launceston was honoured to see their design adorn the mayor’s Christmas cards this year.
Over the last few years, it has been the children of Launceston who have been asked to design the mayor’s Christmas card which is sent out around the counties and other countries.
This year was no exception and with so many entries to choose from mayor Cllr Helen Bailey had some tough decisions to make.
However, despite many hours spent, pondering over who should be this year’s winner, Cllr Bailey named the overall winner as Elsie Crompton from St Joseph’s School.
Elsie was presented with a book token from the mayor at her school celebration assembly.
The card has been printed and Elsie also received the card from the mayor on the day and a photograph to frame her design.
Cllr Bailey said: “Well done Elsie and congratulations.”
As well as Elsie, Emily Rose and Sophie Cook from St Stephen’s School were named as runners up in the Christmas Card Competition and were also presented with book tokens at their school by the mayor.
