ANYONE aged 12 to 18 can march along with the Holsworthy Army Cadet Force (ACF) — it is now recruiting.
The worthwhile, exciting and fun activity offers young people the opportunity to develop personal skills and make new friends — training opportunities are on offer with the free loan of a uniform (not boots) and subsidised camps.
Holsworthy ACF parades every Monday from 7pm to 9pm at Holsworthy Community College.
The group has seen a lot of success with Zac Loader, 15, and Corporal Emma Whittle, 18, recently completing their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards through participation in ACF activities.
Summer, 17, received promotion to Lance Corporal after demonstrating leadership skills during local community events.
Lance Corporal Reyce Biggs, 16, was given a send off by the detachment after successfully becoming a Junior Soldier and is working towards a career in the Royal Household Cavalry.
Corporal Lianne Seager, 18, and Lance Corporal Jack Heal, 15, saluted Princess Anne on her arrival and departure at Holsworthy Livestock Market during the recent Royal visit.
Anyone interested in joining can get more information by searching ‘Holsworthy ACF’ on Facebook or contacting detachment Commander 2Lt Jim Harvey on 07812 495229 or [email protected]
