A WOMAN has died following a collision on the A30 at Plusha services this weekend.

Police investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the A30 at the junction with Plusha services near Launceston are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Officers were called to reports of a collision involving two cars, a white Kia and a white VW Golf, at around 12.40pm on Sunday, August 11.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the Kia, a woman in her 70s from Launceston, died. Her next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the other vehicle sustained non-life-changing injuries and was taken to hospital.

The emergency services attended, and the westbound carriageway was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “The police would like to thank those members of public that stopped to help and for their patience while the road was closed. It was reopened at around 10.55pm.
