A VOLUNTEER bus service which provides transport for those in need has revealed its newest addition to the fleet.

Little Red Bus is a service which exists purely through the work of volunteers who include trustees, admin helpers and drivers. The organisation provides a range of trips as well as regular routes to a number of shopping spots.

Regular trips include travel to Bodmin on Mondays, shopping to Launceston on Fridays, and the trips to the Good Companions club which meets at North Hill on occasional Wednesdays are still continuing. Trips have been organised whenever a day and driver is available and these are well supported.

Now, the group has unveiled its shiny new bus, ready to take passengers to their required destinations. In celebration of this acquisition, the mayor of Launceston, Cllr Helen Bailey, came to view it.

A spokesperson from Little Red Bus said: “We are grateful to the town council who give an annual grant towards the continuing work of the service. The photo was taken at Homeleigh, who also support us with free bus parking, thank you Homeleigh! We rent and office at the Gateway Centre in Launceston, we appreciate their support.

“All monies taken is purely to keep the bus operating. As much as possible, advertising for trips and volunteers is done through noticeboards and the tourist information office to save on costs. It is this hard work and the sale of our oldest red bus that has enabled us to purchase the new one as we need to be prepared for the future.

“Our thanks to all our volunteers, hoping you enjoy what you do for us. If you would like to join us in driving or admin, please get in touch. More details are on our website, www.littleredbus.uk.”
