OVER £4,000 was raised for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust at the inaugural Stephen Rockett Memorial Tractor Run.
Stephen, who was well-known in North Cornwall and West Devon tragically died in a work-related accident last year, leaving behind wife Amy and their four young children.
With it coming up to a year since his passing, Amy decided to organise the tractor run, held on Sunday, May 12, to celebrate the memory of Stephen by raising money for the Devon Air Ambulance.
The sun shone and the atmosphere thrived as nearly 100 tractors took part which started and finished in Bratton Clovelly and everyone enjoyed their bacon baps, while engaging in the raffle and reversing tractor challenge.
Amy expressed her thanks to all her family and friends that aided her in pulling off this event, and hopes that Stephen would be truly humbled by the support not only for the day but for the support the family have received in this past year.
She added: “A special thank you to Messrs G and O Davey for the kind permission of the tractor parking field, Eversfield Organics, and Ian Perry of Waitrose Holsworthy for the hamper donations. Ellis Bakery and The Clovelly Inn for catering supplies and O Martyn Photography and Editing for attending on the day.
“All the funds raised during the event go directly to the Devon Air Ambulance to support a vital resource in our rural community.”
