Last week Year 5 pupils at St Stephen’s School, Launceston, learnt all about what it takes to be an Earth Tribe Leader.
Someone who takes the lead in understanding and educating others in a crucial topic — saving the world!
They talked about who they know that is already doing this, David Attenborough, Greta Thunberg and Jane Goodall, and what traits they need to join them in their mission to protect the environment.
A spokesperson said: “We decided on the following: passion, influence, confidence, education, communication.
“The children discussed what we can all do, as individuals and as a school and community to contribute to this cause.
“Recycling, reusing, repairing, repurposing, reducing our plastic, cutting down on our energy and water usage and rewilding our outside areas, encouraging biodiversity; creating a balance of different plants and animals, bringing humans and nature closer together!”
They added: “They had an action packed day in the sunshine and in our fantastic school grounds learning whilst playing and demonstrating our school values of advocacy, relationships, creativity and leadership.”
