RESIDENTS of Holsworthy, both young and the formerly young, found themselves at the centre of some spook-tastic family fun in celebration of Halloween.
Holsworthy Mutual Aid, a volunteer led community group, was responsible for organising the seasonal fun. A dark clear night proved the perfect backdrop as people gathered for all things scary, spooky, ghouly and, of course, involving pumpkins and a distinct array of costumes.
The free event was held at the Holsworthy Memorial Hall in the early evening, meaning that by the time it had completed, it was the perfect time for the younger members to pop by a few houses on their way home to fill their bags and buckets with sweets by virtue of trick-or-treating.
Billed as the ‘biggest free family Halloween party in town’, it was an event which fully lived up to its billing, with the lucky attendees leaving the night with expressions of rave reviews of the spook-themed bonanza filling the night skies where previously it had been more supernatural.
The success of the event, driven by the volunteers of Holsworthy Mutual Aid, who have provided a vital community link since the coronavirus pandemic, is one of many events held by the group through the year.
It also marked a busy few days for the town, having been followed by the fourth annual fireworks celebration on November 5.
