RGB Building Supplies has chosen Holsworthy Primary School as a finalist in its ‘Well Built Community Fund’ and if the school is succesful, it will receive £1,000 of building materials.
The school is developing its outside education facility and now offers weekly ‘Wild Tribe’ sessions to pupils. The learning encourages an understanding of plants, trees, animals and biodiversity.
At present the school grounds cannot be used all year round for sessions. If the school is voted as the winner, they will purchase materials to create a series of pathways to link all the outdoor learning facilities so they can be used during wet weather and be accessible to all pupils.
Holsworthy Primary School is up against the Weir Quay Community Watersports Hub Club in Yelverton and Kingsmead School in Wiveliscombe.
Les Ellender, branch manager at RGB Holsworthy, said: “Our Well Built Community Fund continues to prove extremely popular and once again we were inundated with nominations from schools, community groups, projects and charities from the region, so congratulations to Holsworthy Primary School for being chosen as a finalist.”
Voting closed on Sunday.
