A NUMBER of local children came together this week to help one resident celebrate a very special birthday.
Students from Whitstone Primary School paid a visit to St Anne’s Residential Home recently to help resident Margaret celebrate her 100th birthday.
Margaret moved in at St Anne’s in July 2018. Working as a nurse in her younger years she lived in Widemouth prior to coming to live at the home.
However, on July 24, she marked a very special occasion, her 100th birthday.
She was joined by some of her family and friends last Wednesday who enjoyed a lovely afternoon with cake and looking through pictures, reminiscing about her life.
A group of children from Whitstone Primary School joined Margaret in the morning, gifting her a bunch of flowers as well as a handmade card.
The children also joined all the staff in singing ‘happy birthday’.
Emma Woolf, manager at St Anne’s Residential Home, said: “It really was a very special and memorable day. Her Birthday Card from the King was an exciting thing for the children to be able to see. These milestones are an honour to be a part of for all the staffing team.”
