THE winner of Launceston’s ‘Around Town’ competition has been announced as part of the town’s Safer Greener Streets project.
The competition prize draw saw St Catherine’s CofE student, Harvey Relf’s name pulled from the hat last week.
For his entry, Harvey is the lucky winner of two tickets to popular local attraction Hidden Valley Puzzle Park.
The competition was open to four to eleven-year-olds to take part in the project’s public consultation by contributing their thoughts on their favourite places to go in the town, and what else they would like to see.
The event served as an opportunity for young people to contribute to the Safer Greener Streets project.
Niall Davies-Hale of PLACE architects, who were running the competition, said: “It is fundamental we engage with young people as part of the process to enrich perspectives and ensure a brighter future for all”.
A range of entries suggested the top locations to go in the town were Launceston Castle, parks, and the town hall, whereas attractions such as a cinema and soft play were suggested as ‘missing pieces’ of the town.
Niall added: “We are really lucky to have so many young people who are tuned in to the incredible assets we have here”.
