A ROAD closure in Launceston’s town centre has been extended.
Works to supply a new water connection along the town’s Southgate Street and Broad Street were initially pencilled to take place between February 5 and 9, closing the road to drivers, however, the closure has now been extended until Februrary 15.
Between the hours of 7pm and 7am the prohibition will be in force.
The length of the closure stretches from Western Road, ‘between the junctions of Dockey and Castle Dyke, Broad Street, between the junctions of Castle Dyke and Church Street and Southgate Street, Launceston between the junctions of Broad Street and Angel Hill.’
Drivers looking to travel through the the town during the closure will instead be directed along a diversion.
The route will see motorists to the west of the closure travel along St Thomas Road, before turning onto Dockacre Road (A388) and following it round until reaching Exeter Street and heading back towards the town centre.
