A greatly expanded Revel Committee has planned and executed a true Week St Mary Revel revival for 2022.

Inspired by the response to the ‘Family Day’ on the Playing Field at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee it was decided to try to move the Revel Day back to the playing field and thanks to very generous help in the way of equipment and physical effort from a lot of village people, all had a simply great time. This was despite having to move all the events back by one week to take account of Her Majesty’s funeral.

A spokesperson said: “Many thanks to all those who gave their time so generously, I dare not mention names because I may miss someone but your efforts throughout the week are truly appreciated by everyone.”

The following is a summary of the week’s events:

Wednesday — Results of the Revel Bake-Off  Overall Winner joint winners of the Bake Off cup were Sue Dickenson and Jennie Parkin, Best exhibit plaque donated by Jeannette Turner went to Jennie Parkin.
